I install Fedora Linux in VirtualBox, then install ArangoDB and setup the port to show in Windows.

For some reason trying to populate data in the 3.3 community edition failed using ArangoIMP, I wonder if somebody can point me in a good tutorial to populate initial data for learning development.

Hi,
you need to eventually specify the type of the file you want to import.

You can find more informations on it here:

https://docs.arangodb.com/3.3/Manual/Administration/Arangoimp.html

Cheers,
Willi

It worked great, I was able to follow the documemtation and is awesome about 100,000 records from the sample site not even in 1 second is incredible ArangoDB is so FAST.

Later download the Git commits sample with about 20,000 records, uloaded not a blink.

Finnally try the CSV, no dissapointments, the first line was the definition of the columns, voala just works.

Make me so excited want to learn more and more want to load 15,000,000 records and start building apps.

Surely Im just starting but after SQL,Oracle,MySQL,this is awesome. Keep doing the great job.

Hi,
thanks for the kind words - glad you like it.

Some other bits you may like:

(how do you do a SQL left outer join again?)

And probably this is the chapter you started looking at arangodb in first
place:
